Baltimore death metal veterans Misery Index have officially returned to Season of Mist as the band gears up for their next chapter. Along with the signing announcement, the group confirmed that new music is on the way from their upcoming eighth studio album.

For the last 25 years, Misery Index have built a reputation through relentless death metal, grindcore aggression, and sharp social commentary. Featuring members with ties to bands such as Pig Destroyer and Dying Fetus, the band have toured the world extensively and remained one of extreme metal’s most dependable names.

Bassist and vocalist Jason Netherton celebrated the reunion, saying the band is happy to be back with the label and looking forward to what comes next.

The move comes after 2022’s Complete Control, an album remembered as a cold-minded destruction experience—ear-soothing death metal delivered through crushing precision, calculated violence, and a sound built for those who find comfort in chaos.

Misery Index will hit the road this summer for their An Epitaph for Endtimes European and UK headline run, including appearances at Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, Party San Open Air, and other major stops.

With new material on the horizon and a return to familiar ground, Misery Index looks ready to continue their legacy with full force.
